Telligent Masonry is a Rockville, Maryland firm that delivers contracted services that span a range of facades and interiors across various buildings and developments. Community involved, Telligent Masonry supports the Anacostia Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), overseeing targeted projects designed to improve local business dynamics.
One major AEDC initiative, the Storefront Facade Improvement Project, focuses on the District of Columbia’s Ward 7 and 8 retail and commercial areas serving those of low and moderate-income. Undertaken in tandem with the DC Department of Housing Community Development, it provides commercial property owners and companies that qualify with matching grants. These cover 75 percent of the costs of improving storefront exteriors, with business owners covering the remaining 25 percent.
These funds are reserved for general maintenance and repairs and door, window, sign, lighting, and awning installation. They can also be used to upgrade storefront systems, with AEDC delivering coordinated design and construction solutions throughout the renovation process. Through this strategy, AECD is actively working to boost the image of local retail and commercial districts and build sustained economic growth.
